June in Iceland: when the lingering traces of the Arctic winter melt into the endless daylight of the Northern summer.

This is the season when summer and winter adventures overlap and Summit Heliskiing offers you a unique opportunity to experience the best of both.  Heliskiing in corn snow in the morning and fly fishing for brown trout in the afternoon – it’s pretty difficult not to love TIGHT LINES.

For one week only, you can cast and carve your way through the day, heliskiing in the early summer sun and fly fishing for the legendary Icelandic brown trout in the Laxárdalur valley in the afternoon. Under the midnight sun, the action doesn’t stop unless you want it to.

Spectacular heliskiing conditions

Corn snow is the result of melt-freeze cycles and is ideal for Icelandic heliskiing. Pebble-size kernels of softening ice have a soft carveable surface. Our guides are experienced harvesters so they know how to predict the best timing for the best locations. The skiing areas in North Iceland are renowned for their beautiful early summer settings, with the afternoon sun casting a golden glow on the pristine slopes. Count on corn runs during the morning hours, or at the end of the day, after the cooling has refrozen the round crystals. One TIGHT LINES highlight is the possibility of experiencing t-shirt skiing a carveable surface in 10-15° Celsius.

Extraordinary fly fishing

Flyfishing in Laxárdalur valley is an exceptional experience. The fly fishing area in Laxárdalur is unique and the trout caught there can be extraordinarily large. The beautiful lava-crusted valley, the water rushing down the riverbed, and the excitement of battling with the energetic trout come together to give an incomparable sense of contentment. Our guides will make sure you fish the right spots with the correct bait, and know whether to use streamers, tubes or dry-flies.

Dates: June 2nd – June 6th 2022
